Apple Lemon Drop

Apple Lemon DropLemon Drop martini’s have been a popular and easy to make cocktail for over a decade now – and not until recently had I decided it needed a little bit of flair.I never thought adding sour apple could make it so delicious but it has – and I can’t stop drinking them!  They are only three easy ingredients that most people have in the pantry already.
Apple Lemon Drop1 Part Citrus Vodka (or regular is fine too)
1 Part Sour Apple Schnapps
Splash of lemonade
This sweet shot also makes a great martini.  Simple pour ingredients into shaker and shake till shaker is frosty.  Strain into a shot glass and enjoy.

Primrose Martini

When thinking of fruity tropical drinks, one does not ever consider whiskey a possibility- but the Primrose knocks out all those stereo types and gives you a unique and tasty cocktail that even some of the pickiest drinkers will enjoy.
In appropriate conditions, the primrose can cover the ground in open woods and shaded hedgerows. In more populated areas it has sometimes suffered from over-collection and theft so that few natural displays of primroses in abundance can now be found.  Both flowers and leaves are edible, the flavour ranging between mild lettuce and more bitter salad greens. The leaves can also be used for tea, and the young flowers can be made into primrose wine.  Primroses are one of the few earliest blooming flowers - blooming in February in parts of western Washington, thus marks their traditionally with springtime.
The Primrose martini takes the unique flavor of Jim Beam and combines it with the fruity and flavorful juice of pineapple, then throws a little bit of peach schnapps in there to tie it all up.  The drink is strong, slightly musky, but beautifully delicious and will have even the most picky of drinkers satisfied and maybe even asking for a another glass!

Primrose Martini1 oz Jim Beam1oz Peach Schnapps1 oz Pineapple JuiceSplash of Lime Juice
Pour ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake till shaker is frosty.  Strain into a martini glass and garnish with a pineapple wedge or go fancy and use a real primrose

Pink Martini Recipe

This is a very simple and sweet drink to mix up when you just need something pink!  It combines the flavors of black raspberry, pomegranate, and lime, and adds a vodka kick.  Because there are no mixers in the drink (it's straight-up liquor, baby!), I call it a martini.
Ingredients:
Chambord (or other raspberry liqueur)Pama (or other pomegranate liqueur)  Vodka (Tito's is my fave) Wedge of lime

The mixing is up to you - experiment with one part each and a dash of lime to finish.  Layer the liqueurs first and top with vodka, or shake with ice and serve up!

Caribbean Breeze

Caribbean Breeze
Lingering warm days still in September?  They do exist. And for those toasty days, we have  the Caribbean breeze.  Pineapple, Amaretto and vodka mix together to make this delightful cocktail.  Extra refreshing and perfect for those last lingering summer days.  This drink is not only delicious, but also refreshing.
Try It:
1oz Vodka
1 oz Amaretto Liqueur
Pineapple Juice
Pour vodka and amaretto into a rocks glass filled with ice, then fill the rest with pineapple juice. Garnish with pineapple if you have one laying around, or just drink it the way it is because its delicious!

Fruit Salad Cocktail

Step 1: Ingredients

The items in this drink are pretty simple. You'll want a drinking glass, a shot glass (if you want to measure), ice, cranberry juice (or similar), ginger ale, peach schnapps, banana schnapps, and (optionally) a paper umbrella. I personally like to serve it in a tumbler glass, but it looks equally nice in stemware. All of the drinks should be cold, so if they haven't been the refrigerator, you should let them chill.

Step 2: Mixing the Drink

1. Put the ice in the glass. 3-4 large cubes should be plenty.
2. Add 1 shot of banana schnapps.
3. Add 1 shot of peach schnapps.
4. Add 1 shot of ginger ale.
5. Slowly add cranberry juice to taste.
I like to add it slowly just in case the ginger ale decides to foam up.
I'm not of the opinion that the brands matter a lot, at least for this drink, but the pictures from the first step are of the brands I used.
6. Enjoy!

Island Punch

Island PunchIsland drinks are the cocktails of the summer.  Meant to be enjoyed while laying under the toasty summer sun on a beach towel or lawn chair – with the sound of the ocean waves lapping at the edge of the beach.  What a pretty picture.  It’s too bad not everyone is privileged enough to live near a beach. :(  So for those of you that can’t make it, this drink is for you. (It’s perfect for everyone, really, like we need an excuse to get a lil tipsy te he)  Sit back, relax and imagine yourself in an island paradise – sipping on some fruity punch.
Island Punch1 oz of Silver Rum
2oz Orange Juice
2oz Pineapple Juice
Float of Grenadine
Mix the rum, orange juice and pineapple juice in a collins glass filled with ice first.  Float the grenadine on the top and garnish with an orange wheel and an umbrella.  Enjoy!

Peach Maiden

Peaches are a delicious summer treat perfect for smoothies, in a pie or just by themselves as a refreshing afternoon snack.  One peach contains only 68 calories and is chock full of 10 different vitamins including a healthy dose of vitamin A – important for healthy vision.  Peaches also hold a hefty helping of a little mineral called potassium which is vital to help maintain a healthy blood pressure.  Peaches are also a great digestion aid – containing 3 grams of fiber per peach.  Peach Maiden contains an entire peach – making it a healthier choice cocktail.  And who doesn’t want to add a little nutrition to their fun night of drinking?
Peach Maiden is quite a similar recipe to a Bellini Recipe – containing peaches and white wine.  There are a few dissimilarities between the two though.  For instance, you are more likely to be able to make a Peach Maiden with ingredients you have in your kitchen right now – saving you a shopping trip.  Peach Maiden contains peaches, ice, peach schnapps, and any white wine you prefer.  Sweeter wine such as Moscato will result in a sweeter cocktail, as will a dryer wine make the drink a little stiffer.
Peach Maiden
3/4 Cup or 1 whole peach Peeled, rinsed and sliced ( you may used frozen peaches as well)
2oz White Wine ( I used Pinot Grigio)
1oz Peach Schnapps
1 Cup Ice
Toss Ingredients into a blender and blend on the crush ice setting long enough till ice and ingredients are blended well together.  Pour into a Champagne flute and enjoy.  Recipe Yields Two drinks.

Strawberry and Banana Slush Smoothie

Step 1: Preparation

Wash the fresh strawberries, and chop the green bits off the them.Peel the banana

Step 2: Blend!

Add the fresh ingredients to the blender. Then add the frozen strawberries and banana slices. Then add the juice. Then blend until you have a smoothie.
I like to use the frozen fruits as the drink is not diluted - and has yummy icy strawberry bits in it! But I guess you could use ice cubes, frozen juice or freeze your own strawberries!

Step 3: Consume!

There should be enough to make 2 or 3 servings from the mix, I added a stirrer and a straw!!
You could also put the mix into a lolly mould with a stick - and make a tasty ice lolly!Sometimes I like to add vodka for a refreshing cocktail!
Enjoy!

Chocolate Martini

Chocolate Martini
Let me begin first by saying that their are TONS of chocolate martini drink recipes out there.  Some are strong, some are sweet, some are just right. Which one you prefer generally depends on your taste in liquor and of course, chocolate.  After experimenting with different liqueurs and mixers and all that, this was the one I settled on.  Light, and creamy, with hardly a hint of alcohol taste, this drink is mild enough for even the pickiest of drinkers. Plus, it tastes great!  A lot like chocolate milk in fact. There are three simple ingredients – you may have them laying around your place.  Regardless, this is a great drink to serve at a dinner party because chocolate is loved by all.
Recipe:1.5oz Creme de Cacao
1oz Amaretto Liqueur
2oz Cream
Mix all ingredients in a shaker filled with ice and strain into a martini glass.  Garnish with whip cream and some sprinkles.

How to make delicious chocolate liqueur

Step 1: Ingredients and materials

To make 750ml:
4 oz baking chocolate. Make sure it says baking chocolate, I've had bad luck with stuff like Lindt chocolate bars.1 cup sugar, I prefer raw or turbinado, but if you wish you could use white.1 pint whole milk. The wholer the better.1 cup Grain alcohol 190 or 151 proof (75-90%). Its hard to find 190 proof in the states, it generally can only be found as 151. The typical American brand is Everclear. It probably shouldn't be too hard to find elsewhere.
You'll need a large pot for melting the chocolate into milkA fine meshed strainer. I have yet to find one I like, but I found a non-disposable coffee strainer at Vons (supermarket) that worked pretty well.SpoonFunnelBottles (0.75-1 liter is good size), I'm not sure what to call these kinds of bottles, but I found the ones used in this instructable at Sur le Table (its close to work, don't judge me).

*Edited to add actual quantity of chocolate needed. I figured this was important.
*Edited a second time to add the quantity of alcohol needed. Turns out its also important.

Step 2: Caramelize Sugar (mostly optional)

Since, you are a fan of instructables, I suggest you make the most out of this and carmelize your sugar. Its not absolutely necessary, but if all you want to do is get drunk, you're best off skipping this instructable entirely. Also, if you're capable of multitasking you can do this while you mix the chocolate and milk, and just turn off the heat to the one that finishes first.
To caramelize the sugar, mix the 1 cup of sugar and about 1 cup of water in a separate pot then what you are using to melt the chocolate. The sugar will dissolve easier as you heat the mixture, so don't try to mix it before setting it on the stove. Basically just keep stirring the mix as it heats up even once its mixed. It will start boiling and bubbling and will require much more frequent stirring. I guess there is a fine line between making caramel and making candy, but it will all dissolve into the end mix anyway. Its tough to tell when enough is enough (ok, I'm not a professional caramelizer), but you'll notice eventually that the stuff is thickening. Thats probably a good point to add it to the chocolate mixture.
Like I said, its difficult to determine the point of caramelization because you are stirring while hot when the stuff tends to flow the best.
Uhh, I guess I looked it up, and this is not the way to make caramel. Its the way I made it for the liqueur, so I'm going to leave it until I try differently. There isn't an instructable that gets at it, but Wikihow suggests just melting sugar.
http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Caramel

Heat up the milk on a stove, careful not to burn it. Mix in the baking chocolate. It will start melting into the milk as the temperature increases. Also mix the caramel and ensure that everything is well mixed before taking off the heat.
Reduce the temperature down to about ambient. Placing the pot in the sink and running cool water around it can help to bring down the temperature.
The last step is to add in the alcohol and again ensure everything is well mixed. Like I said, wait til the temperature is low, because the alcohol will tend to vaporize off if its too warm.

Step 4: Filtering

I haven't quite discovered what this stuff is, but without fail a crust of sediment forms on the top. It takes about 4-5 days for the stuff to fully form, but you'll notice it after a day or so. Take all your chocolate liqueur and run it through the filter/strainer. It will go pretty slowly, and will probably be a messy painful process, but its pretty important. Wash the bottle to remove any sediments that didn't escape. You'll probably lose a small amount of this stuff during the process as it tends to stay behind in your pots and funnels. Re-bottle your concoction and notice its glamorous appeal.

Step 5: Let sit and wait

its that easy, just let this amazing bottle full of sin and alcohol sit on your shelf well sealed for a couple weeks to a few months. This is a confectionery Italian product, and can be extremely delicious depending on how well you make it. I gave you the basic recipe, but there is much more to it that I haven't quite yet discovered. If anyone else has done this before and has further suggestions (especially any Italians with secret family recipes!), please feel free to post comments.
For consumption, drizzle a small amount over your ice cream (or gelato!). Pour on top of fresh fruit. Mix it with coffee, or sip it straight. There are plenty of uses to get this stuff from the bottle to your belly.
The most important step is creating your own labels. I bought printable packing labels from Office Depot and designed what you see here. Its pretty simple, but it sure adds your own authenticity.
Enjoy!
P.S. I hope you enjoy this for your birthday Kelly!
